Teledyne DALSA has announced that its AxCIS™ line scan imaging modules are now available in color. These Contact Image Sensors (CIS) combine sensors, lenses, and lights in one unit, making them a cost-effective option for machine vision tasks like battery and print inspection.

The AxCIS sensors use multiline CMOS technology to deliver high-quality images with up to 60 kHz x 3-line rate in native RGB colors at a resolution of 900 dpi. This allows for precise defect detection. The design ensures a seamless image without missing pixels and supports accurate measurements.

The AxCIS sensors are scalable, use a single 24V power supply, and have a compact design with dustproof features. They can fit in tight spaces and use a fiberoptic interface for high-speed data transfer, suitable for harsh industrial environments. Teledyne DALSA is part of Teledyne’s Vision Solutions group and provides digital imaging components used in many inspection systems worldwide.
