Teledyne FLIR IIS has introduced the Blackfly S GigE 5 MP rolling shutter camera (BFS-PGE-50Y2M/C), available for purchase starting October 22, 2025. This latest addition to the Blackfly S GigE lineup brings notable advancements in performance, image clarity, and integration flexibility for machine vision and industrial imaging systems.
Powered by the Onsemi AR0521 sensor, the camera incorporates Teledyne’s proprietary Global Reset technology, which minimizes motion blur and ensures uniform exposure results — achieving image precision close to that of global shutter models. This makes it particularly well-suited for inspection, positioning, and measurement applications.
Delivering up to 24 frames per second, the BFS-PGE-50Y2M/C provides a 66% boost in signal-to-noise ratio and a 16% increase in dynamic range over earlier 5 MP rolling shutter versions, resulting in sharper and more consistent images even in challenging conditions. Leveraging the proven Blackfly S architecture, the camera integrates advanced automation tools, Teledyne’s reliable GigE interface, and the Spinnaker SDK for dependable image streaming, precise configuration, and effortless deployment into existing systems.
