Teledyne DALSA has recently launched the latest version of its Sapera Vision Software Edition, presenting advancements in its AI training graphical tool Astrocyte™ 1.50 and image processing and AI libraries Sapera Processing 9.50. Engineered to deliver robust image acquisition, control, image processing, and artificial intelligence capabilities, the Sapera Vision Software facilitates the creation, development, and implementation of high-performance machine vision applications. These applications span diverse industries, from surface inspection on metal plates and hardware part location and identification to plastic sorting and PCB inspection.

The latest release of Teledyne DALSA’s Sapera Vision Software Edition introduces several key features aimed at enhancing machine vision capabilities. The newly implemented Rotated Object Detection algorithm delivers precise location and orientation data for objects/defects, significantly improving accuracy in detection processes. Additionally, a new Segmentation Algorithm has been incorporated to elevate accuracy levels while expediting training and execution tasks, thereby enhancing overall performance. The release capitalizes on the capabilities of the NVIDIA RTX 4000 series and incorporates performance power mode management, resulting in notable speed improvements. Faster training times are achieved through the strategic use of multiple GPUs and mixed-precision quantization, contributing to an efficient workflow.
Notably, the latest release includes a set of new AI Sample Applications based on Qt/C++ and .NET/C#, providing users with versatile tools for diverse applications. Furthermore, the expansion of AI inference support to RGB packed (24-bit) brings increased flexibility by accommodating a broader range of compatible data formats. To enhance user experience, the release enables live video acquisition into sample applications through Teledyne’s Spinnaker acquisition API. These features collectively position the Sapera Vision Software as a comprehensive solution, empowering businesses with advanced machine vision capabilities across various industries.
