Tejas Networks Limited has secured a purchase order to supply advanced 4G Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions for the expansion of a mobile network in South Asia. The order represents another step in the company’s strategy to strengthen its presence in international wireless markets and broaden its global customer base.

Under the agreement, Tejas Networks will deploy its 4G multiband radio products across several locations within the mobile operator’s network. These radio solutions will support the expansion of the operator’s wireless coverage and capacity, enabling improved connectivity and service delivery for subscribers.

The deployment forms part of a broader effort by the telecom operator to enhance its network infrastructure and meet increasing demand for mobile data services. By incorporating Tejas Networks’ radio access technologies, the operator aims to strengthen its network performance while supporting the growing adoption of digital services in the region.

Commenting on the development, Sanjay Malik, Chief Strategy and Business Officer of Tejas Networks, said the order represents progress in the company’s efforts to expand its wireless business internationally. He noted that the deployment of Tejas Networks’ technology in the operator’s network reflects growing acceptance of the company’s 4G and 5G mobility solutions in global markets. The company aims to build on this success by pursuing similar opportunities with mobile network operators both within India and internationally.

Tejas Networks offers a comprehensive wireless product portfolio designed to support modern mobile communication networks. Its technology suite includes 4G and 5G Radio Access Network solutions along with a converged 4G/5G core network platform.

The company’s radio units are designed to support multi-band and multi-mode operation, enabling network operators to deploy them in diverse environments while optimizing infrastructure investments. These capabilities allow operators to enhance network coverage, improve data speeds, and manage increasing traffic loads.

Another key component of the company’s wireless infrastructure offering is the TJ1400 UltraFlex baseband platform. This system integrates multiple networking functions—including wireless, broadband access, transport, and IP networking—into a compact chassis. By combining these capabilities into a single platform, the solution helps mobile and broadband operators reduce the cost and complexity associated with network deployment and expansion.

Dr Kumar N Sivarajan, Chief Technology Officer of Tejas Networks, said the partnership demonstrates the operator’s confidence in the company’s technology and its ability to support diverse network requirements. He added that the collaboration provides the operator with an additional technology partner capable of delivering reliable and flexible solutions while increasing vendor diversity within its network infrastructure.

According to Dr Sivarajan, Tejas Networks is committed to working closely with the operator to ensure that its technology supports optimal network performance and a high-quality user experience for customers. Tejas Networks designs and manufactures high-performance networking equipment used by telecommunications service providers, internet service providers, utilities, defense organizations, and government agencies.

The company’s solutions are deployed in more than 75 countries, supporting a wide range of communication infrastructure applications including broadband access, optical transport, and wireless connectivity. Tejas Networks is part of the Tata Group, with Panatone Finvest Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Sons Private Limited, serving as the majority shareholder. Through continued investment in research and development, the company aims to strengthen its technology portfolio and expand its presence in global telecom infrastructure markets.
