Tata Elxsi (BSE: 500408), a global design and engineering firm, has secured a multi-year contract worth €50 million with a prominent European-based automotive company. This partnership will see Tata Elxsi playing a central role in software and platform development across key areas such as electric mobility, body systems, chassis design, and software-defined vehicle (SDV) technologies.
As part of the agreement, Tata Elxsi will set up a dedicated Global Engineering Centre to support the carmaker’s long-term software goals. This centre will focus on building an integrated technology foundation that includes a custom operating system, electronic framework, and automotive cloud platform. These systems aim to improve in-vehicle features, over-the-air updates, and cross-brand software integration.
Tata Elxsi was chosen for its in-depth knowledge across automotive systems—including electrification, in-car systems, cybersecurity, and body controls—as well as its strong delivery record with global automakers and suppliers. The company’s ability to align its engineering support with its customer’s roadmap was a key factor in securing the partnership.
The company recently introduced AVENIR™, a development and testing platform designed to help automakers create modular, cloud-ready software that can run both in vehicles and in cloud environments. This offering is part of a larger suite of solutions that includes AUTONOMAI, a system designed to support advanced driver assistance features; TETHER, a platform enabling connected vehicle services; and MOBIUS+, a tool for managing digital product documentation. These are further backed by an expanding network of innovation labs dedicated to advancing technologies in connected, autonomous, electric, and software-defined vehicles.
Manoj Raghavan, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Elxsi, said “We’re proud to join hands with one of the top global automotive companies to support their shift towards a more software-driven future. This collaboration marks an important milestone in our efforts to provide platform-led engineering that supports long-term scalability and innovation. It also reflects the confidence our partners have in our ability to deliver complex programs with speed, quality, and shared ownership.”
This deal strengthens Tata Elxsi’s role in helping carmakers transition toward connected and sustainable mobility. The company continues to work with leading OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers to develop next-generation vehicle technologies.
