Tata Elxsi, a global leader in design and technology innovation, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the GSMA under its Fusion initiative to accelerate enterprise API adoption and help telecom operators unlock new monetization opportunities. The collaboration will also include a joint global Statement of Requirements, aimed at enabling standardized APIs that allow operators to offer enterprise-grade services across industries such as automotive, industrial, healthcare, and entertainment.

In the initial phase, both organizations will focus on addressing enterprise needs in the automotive and drone segments by deploying digital services that utilize Quality on Demand (QoD) and other network APIs. This effort will empower telcos to move beyond connectivity and tap into new revenue channels, aligning with Tata Elxsi’s “AI First Telco” strategy for next-generation network monetization.

A recent report by ResearchAndMarkets.com projects the global network API market to expand from $1.96 billion in 2025 to $6.13 billion by 2030, driven by rapid 5G adoption and enterprise digital transformation. Leveraging this momentum, Tata Elxsi’s collaboration with GSMA will help operators reduce time-to-market for API-based services, streamline integration, and scale monetization across diverse enterprise use cases.

Through GSMA’s Open Gateway framework and CAMARA-standardized APIs, Tata Elxsi will design practical, demand-led use cases that enable programmable network capabilities—such as QoD, location verification, and enhanced security—tailored to specific enterprise requirements. In the automotive sector, for instance, applications could include advanced driver and cabin monitoring systems, high-quality in-car entertainment powered by QoD APIs, real-time location-based services, and KYC integration for shared mobility and fleet operations. These capabilities will be integrated through Tata Elxsi’s Connected Digital Platform & Solutions to ensure seamless enterprise deployment.

Rajagopalan Rajappa, Chief Technology Officer – Communication Technologies & Platforms at Tata Elxsi, stated, “This collaboration aims to help telecom operators redefine their value proposition by monetizing networks through standardized APIs. With Tata Elxsi’s integration and managed platform expertise, telcos can capture new enterprise revenue opportunities while delivering high-value digital services.”

Paresh Modi, Senior Director, GSMA Fusion, added, “We are excited to partner with Tata Elxsi through the GSMA Open Gateway initiative. Their deep industry understanding and systems integration expertise will be vital in accelerating API adoption. As mobile networks open up new programmable capabilities, collaborations like this will drive scalable, value-driven digital services across sectors including automotive and media.”

Tata Elxsi continues to be a key player in driving digital transformation across telecom, automotive, healthcare, and media, blending design thinking with advanced engineering. The GSMA, representing the global mobile ecosystem, focuses on fostering innovation, enabling interoperability, and advancing connectivity to create sustainable value for businesses, industries, and societies worldwide.
