On Tuesday, Suzlon Group, a leading provider of renewable energy solutions, has announced that it secured a 642-megawatt wind power project from ABC Cleantech Private Limited (ACPL), an Evren company.
Suzlon Energy Limited is one of the global leaders in renewable energy solutions, specializing in wind turbine technology. With a robust presence in more than 18 countries, Suzlon has been providing sustainable and clean power solutions. The company is renowned for its innovative wind turbines, comprehensive services, and a commitment to advancing the renewable energy landscape.
On the other hand, ABC Cleantech, one of the dynamic players in the renewable energy sector, focuses on developing and implementing sustainable solutions. Specializing in solar and wind energy projects, ABC Cleantech contributes to India’s clean energy goals.
According to the terms outlined in the agreement, Suzlon is entrusted with the task of deploying 214 wind turbine generators (WTGs) characterized by Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) towers. Each of these turbines boasts a rated capacity of 3 MW. This installation project is set to take place in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, expressed the company’s dedication to collaborating with Evren in expanding their green energy portfolios and supporting India’s renewable energy objectives. Evren, a development platform initiated by Brookfield in partnership with Axis Energy, aims to construct more than 6 GW of renewable energy assets in the next 2-3 years across the most resource-abundant states in India.
JP Chalasani, the CEO of Suzlon Group, expressed his satisfaction in stating, “It brings us great pleasure to unveil our inaugural collaboration with Evren.” This project has the capacity to supply power to approximately 528,000 households and effectively reduce around 2.087 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
Under the terms of the agreement, Suzlon will be responsible for the supply of wind turbines and the execution of installation and commissioning processes for the project. Additionally, Suzlon will provide comprehensive operations and maintenance services following the commissioning phase.
Suman Kumar, the Chief Executive Officer of Evren, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with Suzlon Energy, stating, “We are pleased to join forces with Suzlon Energy for this undertaking. We anticipate utilizing our expertise and operational capabilities to develop and manage a high-quality clean energy portfolio in India in the coming years.”
The aforementioned declaration emphasized that Suzlon turbines are equipped with the established Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) technology, seamlessly assimilating the wind turbines into the utility network to fulfill the grid prerequisites.
