Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 on February 2, an event set to highlight India as an expanding global hub of mobility. The three-day mega exhibition, taking place from February 1-3 at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, will have a complete showcase of the entire mobility ecosystem, featuring 28 original equipment makers, over 600 component makers, and a diverse range of companies in the electric, hybrid, bio-fuel, and hydrogen vehicle sectors.

The Bharat Mobility Global Expo is a developing global event in India that put up a complete show of auto industry. More than just an event, it serves as a preview for the future of mobility. The expo will highlight exhibits and events focused on futuristic vehicles, advanced automotive components, electric vehicle battery and charging technologies, alternative powertrains, and disruptive technologies such as urban mobility solutions and connected and autonomous systems.

The expo aims to unlock numerous opportunities for collaboration and transformation in the automotive industry, both globally and within India. Ultimately, the Bharat Mobility Expo reveals an important moment in creating and shaping the future of mobility. Differently from the half-yearly India Auto Expo, the Bharat Mobility Expo is set to cover the full range of mobility-related industries, including powertrain technologies, components, eco-friendly tires, battery technology, charging infrastructure, connected technologies, and alternative fuel technologies.

Major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) participating in the exhibition include industry leaders such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, Skoda Volkswagen, Mercedes Benz, Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles, Ashok Leyland, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, Royal Enfield, Ather Energy, and Godawari Electric Motors. The event will also host over 50 battery and storage companies, 10 leading tire manufacturers, and nine construction equipment makers, offering panoramic overview of the evolving mobility  in India.

The event is organized by the Ministry of Commerce, in collaboration with several other ministries and industry bodies, including the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA), the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association, the Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles, and NASSCOM.

A significant component of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo is the fifth edition of ACMA Automechanika, held as a subset of the larger event. Automechanika, focusing on the aftermarket, is set to exhibit over 50 new products, showcasing the latest innovations and advancements in the automotive repair and maintenance sector.

Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, expressed positive attitide about the event’s scale, stating, “Over 800 exhibitors, including domestic and 50 overseas players, will participate in the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Visitor registrations have crossed the one lakh figure.”

The warm-up event earlier this month saw Minister of Commerce and Industries Piyush Goyal highlighting the expo’s role in showcasing India’s capabilities to the world. Mr Goyal also encouraged the Indian auto industry to aim for a major increase in their share of vehicle exports, setting a target of at least 50 percent, up from the current 14 percent.

The Bharat Mobility Global Expo comes at an important time when the global automotive industry is observing a patterned shift towards sustainable and eco-friendly solutions. India, with its focus on electric, hybrid, and alternative fuel technologies, aims to position itself as a leader in this transformative era of mobility.

The expo not only serves as a platform for established players to exhibit their latest offerings but also provides a stage for startups and emerging companies to showcase their innovations in the evolving mobility domain. With Prime Minister Modi set to address the event, the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 is set to be a critical moment, symbolizing India’s commitment to shaping the future of mobility on a global scale.
