Suzlon Energy Ltd., announced on Tuesday that it has secured an order worth 103.95 MW from AMPIN Energy Transition. The project entails the supply of 33 wind turbines, each with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW. These turbines are part of Suzlon’s larger rated S144-140 turbines from the 3 MW product series.

The wind turbines will be installed at the client’s site in the Fatehgarh district of Rajasthan. This project is part of a Hybrid Project under various bids from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and Commercial & Industrial customers.

A project of this magnitude can provide electricity to nearly 85,000 households and curb nearly 3.38 lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year. Suzlon will not only supply the wind turbines and execute the project, including erection and commissioning, but will also undertake comprehensive operations and maintenance services post-commissioning.

“Going forward, we will see the industry add on increasing volumes of hybrid renewable energy projects, which will be the cornerstone of effective energy transition,” said Vivek Srivastava, CEO of Suzlon Group’s India business.

Suzlon was in focus on Monday after one of its Independent Directors, Mr. Desaedeleer, resigned over the weekend, citing corporate governance issues but praising the company’s financial performance. “We appreciate Mr. Desaedeleer’s contributions to the company over the past years and are thankful that he had expressed satisfaction with the company’s operational and financial performance over the past eighteen months,” Suzlon said in a statement.

“Suzlon emphasizes its commitment to adhering to all regulatory norms and maintaining proactive disclosures and compliance. The company takes Mr. Desaedeleer’s suggestions on procedural enhancements constructively and will continue its journey towards enhanced operational performance,” the statement added.

This new project underscores Suzlon’s significant role in advancing renewable energy in India and highlights its commitment to sustainability and innovation in the energy sector.
