At the RE+ 25 event, Sunwoda, a global leader in comprehensive energy storage solutions, introduced two new high-capacity energy storage cells: the 684Ah and 588Ah models. These cutting-edge products solidify Sunwoda’s leadership in the evolving battery technology sector, catering to the growing demand for energy storage worldwide.
Dr Sam Chen, General Manager of Sunwoda’s BESS Business Unit, commented, “The introduction of the 684Ah and 588Ah cells is a significant leap forward in our mission to advance large-capacity energy storage technologies. This marks another important milestone as we build a reliable and diverse product portfolio, aiming to provide greater lifecycle value and higher returns on investment for our customers.”
The 684Ah cell incorporates advanced stacking technology, offering an energy density exceeding 440Wh/L. It also integrates a thermal-electric separation system with a 3D heat dissipation design for enhanced safety and stable performance. Designed for a long service life of over 20 years, the cell is compatible with 10ft, 20ft, and 30ft containers.
Its compact and high-density design reduces container use by 27%, accelerates assembly, lowers costs, and reduces the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) by 8%, ultimately improving deployment speed and overall economic efficiency. Production is slated to begin in Q4 2025, ensuring Sunwoda can meet the increasing market demand.
The 588Ah model utilizes proven winding technology, boosted by low-lithium-loss innovations, extending its cycle life to 10,000 cycles at 70% state of health (SOH) and offering more than 20 years of dependable service. With an energy efficiency of 96.5%, advanced electrolyte safety, and a directional venting design, it ensures durability and long-term cost-effectiveness.
Recognized as a global leader in new energy technology, Sunwoda ranked among the world’s top ten energy storage cell providers in the first half of 2025. The company has also earned recognition from BloombergNEF as a Tier 1 Energy Storage Manufacturer. Sunwoda’s expanding global footprint includes manufacturing facilities in China, Thailand, Hungary, and other regions, providing efficient and reliable support to markets worldwide. With the release of the 684Ah and 588Ah energy storage cells, Sunwoda is further advancing its commitment to providing high-capacity solutions that support the transition toward a sustainable energy future.
