Sugar Foods has added a new 617,000-square-foot production and distribution facility in Whiteland, Indiana, strengthening its nationwide operations and supporting continued growth across North America. The privately held food manufacturer, which serves foodservice, retail, and private label customers, said the Whiteland site will enhance its ability to meet customer demand while improving distribution reach and efficiency.
“This expansion in Whiteland marks a significant step forward for Sugar Foods,” said Andrea Brule, President and Chief Executive Officer. “The location gives us the scale and flexibility to better support our customers while continuing to invest in new capabilities that help them succeed.”
Located in central Indiana, the facility offers direct access to major transportation corridors, improving shipping speed and reliability. The site also allows for future phased expansion of manufacturing operations and is expected to generate new jobs in the local community.
Indiana Governor Mike Braun highlighted the state’s logistics advantages, noting that Indiana’s central location makes it well suited for national distribution. He said the project will bring quality employment opportunities while reinforcing Indiana’s role as a key production and logistics center.
The Whiteland facility becomes part of Sugar Foods’ broader network of manufacturing and distribution locations across the United States and Mexico, supporting its growing presence in both consumer packaged goods and food-away-from-home markets.
Founded in New York City in 1948, Sugar Foods supplies foodservice, retail, specialty, and quick-service customers across North America. Its brand portfolio includes Fresh Gourmet, Mrs Cubbison, Concord Foods, and N’Joy, along with private label and licensed offerings. The company employs more than 1,400 people and operates five manufacturing and distribution facilities in the U.S. and Mexico.
