Stellantis and Jaguar Land Rover have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore potential collaboration opportunities focused on product and technology development in the United States market. The non-binding agreement establishes a framework for both companies to evaluate opportunities to create operational and technological synergies by leveraging their complementary strengths across engineering, innovation and mobility solutions. The proposed collaboration is intended to support long-term growth plans while enhancing efficiency in product development activities.
Under the MOU, Stellantis and JLR will assess areas where joint development initiatives may generate value for both organizations, particularly in relation to advanced vehicle technologies, mobility platforms and future product programs tailored for the US automotive market. Any future transactions or collaborations resulting from the discussions would remain subject to regulatory approvals and the execution of definitive binding agreements.
Antonio Filosa, Chief Executive Officer of Stellantis, said strategic collaborations continue to play an important role in supporting innovation and operational efficiency within the global automotive industry. He stated that exploring synergies in areas such as technology and product development can create meaningful long-term benefits while enabling both companies to remain focused on delivering high-quality products and customer experiences.
PB Balaji, Chief Executive Officer of JLR, said collaboration would be an important component of JLR’s future growth strategy as the company continues its transformation journey under its “Reimagine” vision. He added that working with Stellantis provides an opportunity to explore complementary capabilities that may support JLR’s long-term ambitions in the U.S. market.
The announcement comes as global automotive manufacturers continue to accelerate investments in electrification, intelligent mobility systems and software-defined vehicle technologies. Both companies are seeking ways to improve development efficiency while responding to evolving customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
