Steel Dynamics, Inc (NASDAQ/GS: STLD) has appointed Matt Bell as the new leader of its metals recycling division, effective immediately. “I am pleased to acknowledge Matt’s exceptional leadership and contributions to our organization,” said Mark D Millett, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Since joining us in 2016, his commercial insight and operational expertise have elevated our metals recycling teams’ capabilities in service, efficiency and supply-chain solutions. Our long-term succession planning enables this smooth transition as Miguel Alvarez moves from metals recycling to lead our aluminum flat rolled products platform.”
In his new role, Mr Bell will oversee Steel Dynamics’ metals recycling business as Vice President of Metals Recycling and President of OmniSource. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Commercial for OmniSource, guiding ferrous purchasing and sales strategies and aligning scrap flows to support the company’s steelmaking operations.
Since joining Steel Dynamics in 2016, he has progressed through several leadership roles across operations, commercial functions and marketing. His earlier career also includes multiple leadership positions within the broader metals recycling sector.
