Designed to address the challenges faced by operators working in harsh conditions, the R4-50 Rotary Latch offers a robust mechanism that withstands vibration, reduces the risk of unintended door release, and simplifies cab access. The latch supports efficient entry and exit for operators while maintaining strong door retention even in high-impact environments.
A key feature of the R4-50 is its independent interior and exterior actuation, allowing operators to safely open cab doors from either side. This design improves accessibility and contributes to safer operation, particularly in equipment that is frequently accessed throughout the workday.

The R4-50 Rotary Latch with Dual Triggers meets several key industry standards, including FMVSS 206 impact performance requirements, IP65 protection against dust and water ingress, EN 45545-3 fire protection standards, and applicable vibration performance criteria.
As an enhancement to Southco’s proven rotary latch technology, the R4-50 provides equipment manufacturers with a dependable and cost-effective solution for improving cab entry systems. The latch is compatible with Southco AC actuators, allowing original equipment manufacturers to integrate the system into existing designs with minimal investment.
