SLB has been awarded four multi-year integrated well construction contracts by Aramco for oil and gas development across Saudi Arabia. Under the three-year contracts, SLB will manage end-to-end well construction services covering more than 450 wells. Each contract includes an option for an extension of up to two additional years.

The programmes will use SLB’s integrated well construction model, which brings together planning, drilling, evaluation, fluids, cementing and completions through a technology-enabled operating approach. The model combines digital drilling workflows with automated drilling and integrated well delivery services.

Steve Gassen, Executive Vice President, Geographies, SLB, said, “Delivering hundreds of wells across a multi-year program and in multiple operating environments requires an integrated model that connects planning, execution, and digital workflows to set new industry performance benchmarks. Awarding SLB these advanced well construction programs at scale reflects Aramco’s confidence in our integrated model and capabilities.”

The contracts expand the use of SLB’s integrated well construction services in the Kingdom and build on decades of collaboration between SLB and Aramco. The approach is designed to provide a single operating model across large-scale drilling programmes, helping improve execution consistency and well performance.

The four contracts will cover different operating environments across Saudi Arabia. By integrating multiple stages of the well construction process, SLB aims to coordinate planning and field execution while using digital workflows and automation to support drilling operations.

The awards also reflect increasing use of integrated well construction models for large-scale drilling programmes. Such models bring multiple technologies and services together under a coordinated delivery structure rather than managing individual well construction activities separately.

SLB is a global energy technology company with operations in more than 100 countries. The company develops technologies and services for oil and gas production, digital operations, industrial decarbonisation and emerging energy systems. SLB has worked with customers across the energy industry for more than 100 years and combines field operations, engineering, technology and digital capabilities across its global business. The Aramco contracts add to SLB’s integrated well construction activities in Saudi Arabia and are expected to support the delivery of more than 450 wells during the initial three-year contract period.
