The Škoda Elroq has received the prestigious Red Dot Award for its exceptional product design, making it one of the standout winners in one of the world’s largest and most respected design competitions. This electric compact SUV is the first model from the brand to fully embrace the new Modern Solid design language, characterized by durability, functionality, and authenticity. The Elroq’s victory marks Škoda’s 18th Red Dot Award, continuing its legacy of design excellence.
Oliver Stefani, Head of Škoda Auto Design, commented, “With the Elroq, our design team has successfully blended iconic Škoda design elements with fresh ideas and visual touches, like the high-gloss black Tech-Deck Face. The Red Dot Award is a recognition of our team’s hard work, and I want to thank everyone who contributed to making the Elroq such an attractive vehicle.”
A standout feature of the new Modern Solid design language is the high-gloss black Tech-Deck Face at the front, which replaces the traditional radiator grille. Above it, a Škoda wordmark is placed on the sculpted bonnet, finished in Unique Dark Chrome, further enhancing the bold new look.
The narrow, minimalist headlights maintain the signature four-eyed appearance of Škoda’s SUV models. In higher trim levels, a new Light Band connects the headlights, which come with standard LED technology and optional LED Matrix beam headlights.
The rear lights feature fine lines and a minimalist 2D design, in line with the Modern Solid philosophy, while the overall design also contributes to excellent aerodynamics. The Elroq achieves an impressive drag coefficient of 0.26, thanks to several thoughtful design optimizations. The 70th edition of the Red Dot competition featured a jury of 43 design experts from 21 countries, including academics, designers, journalists, and consultants, who assessed products across more than 50 categories.
