Shyam Metalics, has announced the appointment of Mr. Chandra Shekhar Verma as an Independent Director, effective from July 4, 2024. Mr Verma brings over four decades of experience in the steel sector, having held significant roles in various prestigious organizations. He will join the strategic advisory board of Shyam Metalics and be involved in key decision-making processes.

Before joining Shyam Metalics, Mr. Verma served as the Chairman & Managing Director of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and held additional roles at National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) and International Coal Ventures Limited (ICVL). He has received numerous awards for his contributions to the industry, including ‘CEO of the Year’ at the Platts Global Metals Awards.
Mr. Verma’s extensive background includes being the First President of the Indian Steel Association and holding key positions at various industry bodies. He holds multiple degrees, including an MBA and a Bachelor of Law & Legislatures (LLB).
Shyam Metalics is optimistic that Mr. Verma’s expertise will strengthen its market position and support its strategic growth plans.
