Siemens AG plans to double its software and digital services sales to 20%, with India being crucial to this strategy, said CEO Roland Busch. The company, now the largest industrial software firm, is focusing on deep technology and core product development in India.

Expanding Software and Digital Services

Currently, Siemens earns ₹6.5 billion from software and digital services out of ₹75 billion in total revenues. Siemens has invested 12-13 billion euros in its software portfolio over the past decade and will continue expanding it.

Collaboration with Microsoft

Siemens is working with Microsoft on generative AI, including a version of Copilot to use spoken English for programming robots. This makes AI technology more accessible.

India’s Role

India will be key in building Siemens’ human resources, with plans to add 3,000 specialists to its current 34,000-strong team. Siemens sees India as a major talent hub for digital technologies and an important manufacturing and export center.

Local Manufacturing

Siemens has 30 factories in India, producing equipment like steam turbines, motors, switchgear, and transformers. The company operates in four key sectors in India: power, smart infrastructure, digital industries, and mobility.
