Key Figures of Servotech and UP Government Gather for Historic MoU Signing

Servotech Power Systems Ltd, a prominent EV Charger manufacturer in India, has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Uttar Pradesh to establish an Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger manufacturing plant in the state, aligned with the Uttar Pradesh Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy 2022.

The signing of the MoU took place between Raman Bhatia, Managing Director of Servotech Power Systems Ltd, and Shri Nand Gopal Gupta, ‘Nandi’, the Hon’ble Minister of Industrial Development of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. This momentous event was attended by Shri Daya Shankar Singh, Transport Minister of Uttar Pradesh, IAS Abhishek Prakash, CEO of Invest UP, IAS Prathamesh Kumar, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister; and Additional CEO of Invest UP, along with other dignitaries.

Servotech’s commitment to this project involves an investment of approximately 300 crores to be phased over time, leading to the creation of over 500 job opportunities. The manufacturing facility is expected to commence operations in the first quarter of 2025, with a production capacity of 10,000 EV DC Fast chargers per year. These chargers will cater to both domestic and international markets.

Aligned with the objectives of Uttar Pradesh’s Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy 2022, an “EV Roundtable Conference: Exploring Opportunities to Achieve UP’s Electric Mobility Vision” was hosted at the Hyatt Lucknow. The conference aimed to foster collaborative partnerships to facilitate the expansion of EV manufacturing, address challenges related to charging infrastructure, and strengthen mutually beneficial associations.

Expressing enthusiasm, Raman Bhatia, Founder & MD of Servotech Power Systems Ltd, remarked, “Uttar Pradesh holds immense potential to become a hub for Electric Vehicles, chargers, batteries, and more. This opportunity allows us to establish a cutting-edge manufacturing plant, contributing to a robust ecosystem for EV charging and promoting environmental sustainability.”

Sarika Bhatia, Director of Servotech, emphasised the significance of the MoU, stating, “This agreement marks a significant step for Servotech in furthering its legacy of offering promising EV chargers and renewable energy solutions. We anticipate setting new benchmarks in Uttar Pradesh’s renewable energy market.”

IAS Prathamesh Kumar, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister and Additional CEO of Invest UP, expressed optimism, saying, “We are pleased to welcome Servotech Power Systems Ltd to Uttar Pradesh. This MoU is a significant stride towards our aspiration of positioning Uttar Pradesh as a prominent EV manufacturing hub in India, expected to boost employment opportunities and contribute to the state’s economic growth.”
