Schneider Electric, one of the global leaders in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, announced the inauguration of its new cooling factory in Bengaluru. With an investment of Rs 100 Crores (~€10Mn), this state-of-the-art facility spans approximately 6.5 acres. It is set to manufacture innovative cooling solutions to boost the efficiency and sustainability of India’s data centre ecosystem.

This strategic initiative is in response to the surging demand for data center services in the country, fueled by the growth of Artificial Intelligence and the increasing need for data processing. About 85% of the products from this facility are destined for export, demonstrating Schneider Electric’s commitment to enhancing India’s manufacturing prowess on the global stage.
Pankaj Sharma, EVP, Secure Power Division & Data Center Business at Schneider Electric, emphasizes the industry’s current challenges and the factory’s role in addressing them. “With the rapid growth of Artificial Intelligence, there’s a pressing demand for data processing and, consequently, for advanced cooling solutions. Our Bengaluru facility is set to meet this need, offering efficient cooling technologies that boost the resilience and sustainability of data center infrastructures.”

By exporting 85% of our capacity, we are further strengthening India’s stature as a global manufacturing leader while fostering local employment and economic growth in Karnataka.”

The new factory is outfitted with advanced technology to manufacture cooling products tailored for data centers, telecom, and industrial applications. Among the innovative solutions produced are the latest generation in-row cooling systems, high-efficiency chillers, and other critical data center cooling options, reflecting Schneider Electric’s mission to enhance energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
