Shivalik Bimetal Controls Limited (SBCL) has received the Consent to Operate (CTO) from the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board for the Phase-I operations of its Pune manufacturing facility. The approval, valid until June 30, 2032, marks a significant milestone in the company’s manufacturing expansion and enables the phased commencement of commercial operations.
Production at the Pune facility will be scaled in line with customer qualifications, programme timelines and commercial requirements. The facility will strengthen SBCL’s manufacturing capabilities in value-added components and assemblies for automotive electrification and battery-related applications, including bus-bar connectors and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA). The expansion also supports the company’s strategy of delivering integrated, high-precision engineering solutions to OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.
Commenting on the development, Sumer Ghumman, Whole-time Director, Shivalik Bimetal Controls Limited, said:”The Consent to Operate represents an important milestone in the operational readiness of our Pune facility. The approved manufacturing capacity provides a scalable platform for Cell Connecting Systems and aligns with our strategy of expanding our presence in value-added components and assemblies. This facility brings together our expertise in materials science, precision joining, electronics and application engineering under one roof. Our immediate focus is on completing customer and process qualifications, establishing robust production systems and scaling operations in line with programme requirements. Over the long term, the facility will strengthen our participation in automotive and electrification applications while enhancing the value we deliver to OEM and Tier-1 customers.”
