Samsung Electronics has completed a new HVAC manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra, operated by FläktGroup, its HVAC business. The new plant will strengthen Samsung’s manufacturing capabilities in India and support the growing demand for cooling systems for AI data centres and other critical infrastructure across India and the Asia-Pacific region.
The Pune facility is the first new FläktGroup manufacturing unit to become operational since Samsung completed the acquisition of the HVAC specialist in November 2025. The plant is strategically located near Mumbai and key logistics networks, enabling faster delivery of HVAC products to customers in India and other Asia-Pacific markets.
Samsung held an inauguration ceremony at the facility on August 12. The event was attended by Cheolgi Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of the Digital Appliance Business at Samsung Electronics; David Dorney, CEO of FläktGroup; senior executives from both companies and representatives from key customers. More than 100 people attended the event.
Cheolgi Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Digital Appliance Business, Samsung Electronics, said the new production line marks an important step in expanding HVAC manufacturing beyond India and serving the wider Asia-Pacific market. He added that combining Samsung’s AI and technology capabilities with FläktGroup’s HVAC expertise will help address the cooling requirements of AI data centres and other customers.
The new facility covers approximately 13,826 square metres, including manufacturing, office and supporting areas. The plant moved from equipment installation to mass production in six months. FläktGroup plans to gradually increase the facility’s annual production capacity to as many as 6,500 HVAC units.
The Pune plant will manufacture several FläktGroup products, including Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Wall Units (FWUs) and Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAHs). These systems are designed for data centres, commercial buildings and other facilities where efficient temperature and air-quality management is essential.
AHUs use chilled water to cool indoor spaces while supporting air-quality management. FWUs use multiple fans to remove heat efficiently from server environments. CRAHs provide precise control of temperature, humidity and air quality for mission-critical IT equipment. The new plant complements FläktGroup’s existing manufacturing operations in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Together, the two facilities are expected to strengthen local production, improve delivery timelines and increase customer support.
The expansion also supports Samsung’s wider strategy to grow its HVAC business in India and across international markets. With data centre investments increasing, particularly due to the rapid growth of AI infrastructure, demand for advanced cooling systems is expected to rise. By combining FläktGroup’s cooling expertise with Samsung’s technology, scale and global presence, the companies aim to develop and supply next-generation HVAC solutions for AI data centres and other high-growth infrastructure markets.
Samsung is shaping the future through innovative ideas and transformative technologies that enrich everyday life. The company continues to redefine a wide range of industries, including televisions, digital signage, smartphones, wearables, tablets, home appliances and network systems, as well as memory, system LSI and foundry solutions.
Beyond these core areas, Samsung is driving advancements in medical imaging, HVAC technologies and robotics, while expanding its automotive and audio offerings through Harman. Through its SmartThings ecosystem, open collaboration with partners and seamless integration of connected technologies, Samsung is building smarter, more connected experiences for consumers and businesses worldwide.
