Salasar Techno Engineering Limited has designed, fabricated and supplied 2,085 metric tonnes (MT) of composite steel girders for eight spans of Delhi’s Barapullah Phase-III elevated corridor near Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. The company’s work covers eight spans, with lengths ranging from approximately 30 metres to 45 metres and a uniform width of 14.85 metres centre-to-centre. The individual spans weigh between approximately 142 MT and 394 MT, depending on the load and structural requirements of different sections of the corridor.

Fabrication work began on June 7, 2024, while dispatch of the completed girders took place between August 17, 2024 and February 14, 2025. Around 150 personnel were involved in the fabrication work during the project. The Barapullah Phase-III corridor includes an extradosed crossing over the Yamuna. This type of structure combines features of a girder bridge and a cable-stayed bridge, using shorter pylons and cables to support longer spans. The girders also carry a significant part of the structural load, making accuracy in fabrication, quality control and dimensional tolerances important to the project.

Salasar’s scope included the design, fabrication and supply of the composite steel girders for the eight spans. Shashank Agarwal, Managing Director, Salasar Techno Engineering Limited, said, “Fabricating composite steel girders for a landmark Delhi corridor reflects the depth of our engineering and manufacturing capabilities. It speaks to our fabrication precision, our delivery discipline across a dispatch schedule spanning several months, and our commitment to Make in India engineering.”

The project adds to Salasar’s work in large steel structures for urban infrastructure. The company has capabilities across telecom, power transmission and distribution, railways, renewable energy and customised steel structures. Salasar operates manufacturing facilities equipped with automated systems, robotic welding, galvanisation units and quality control systems. Its product range includes lattice towers, monopoles, substation structures, railway electrification structures, solar module mounting systems and customised steel structures.

Established in 2001, Salasar Techno Engineering provides engineering, fabrication and EPC services for infrastructure projects. The company has a client base of more than 600 customers across over 25 countries. Its operations cover the design and manufacturing of steel structures as well as turnkey EPC execution. The company also works across telecom infrastructure, power transmission and distribution, railway electrification, renewable energy and related infrastructure segments.

The Barapullah Phase-III project demonstrates the company’s ability to undertake large-scale steel fabrication involving different span sizes, structural requirements and delivery schedules. The work also adds to its portfolio of projects supporting urban infrastructure development in India.
