Safran Landing Systems and Lufthansa Technik have signed a 10-year Support and Services Agreement (SSA) to strengthen maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) support for Airbus aircraft worldwide. The agreement covers landing gear and hydraulic equipment for the Airbus A320 family, A330, A340 and A350 aircraft and marks another milestone in the long-standing relationship between the two companies.

The partnership was announced during the Farnborough International Airshow and is designed to enhance maintenance capabilities, improve operational efficiency and provide long-term support for airlines operating Airbus fleets across global markets.Under the agreement, Safran Landing Systems will provide Lufthansa Technik with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) support for its worldwide maintenance operations. The support package includes the supply of certified spare parts, engineering assistance, technical expertise and access to the latest maintenance documentation for all aircraft covered under the agreement.

Both companies will work together to improve maintenance planning, accelerate component repairs and ensure consistent operational support for airline customers. By combining Lufthansa Technik’s global maintenance network with Safran’s engineering and product expertise, the partnership aims to deliver reliable and efficient services throughout the lifecycle of Airbus aircraft.

A major focus of the agreement is the expansion of Airbus A350 maintenance capabilities at Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services in London. Through direct collaboration with Safran Landing Systems, Lufthansa Technik will receive access to the latest repair procedures, engineering updates and technical data from the original equipment manufacturer. This will strengthen the company’s ability to provide advanced maintenance solutions for one of Airbus’ newest wide-body aircraft.

The agreement also reinforces support for older Airbus platforms, including the A320 family, A330 and A340. Lufthansa Technik’s landing gear facilities in Hamburg will continue to receive comprehensive OEM backing, ensuring these aircraft remain supported with genuine spare parts, updated technical information and approved repair solutions.

Berit Plewinsky, Vice President Aircraft Component Services at Lufthansa Technik, said the agreement reflects the strength of the relationship between the two companies and demonstrates how close cooperation between a leading maintenance provider and an original equipment manufacturer benefits airline customers. She noted that combining the expertise of Lufthansa Technik’s landing gear network with Safran’s engineering knowledge will help meet growing market demand while maintaining the highest maintenance standards.

Darren Waite, Executive Vice President, Customer Support and Services at Safran Landing Systems, said the agreement is built on years of successful collaboration and mutual trust. He added that Safran will continue providing Lufthansa Technik with certified spare parts, technical expertise and engineering support to help maintain and improve the performance of Airbus fleets around the world.

The 10-year agreement further strengthens both companies’ commitment to delivering dependable maintenance solutions for commercial aviation. By combining OEM expertise with a global MRO network, Safran Landing Systems and Lufthansa Technik are enhancing support for airlines, improving fleet reliability and ensuring long-term operational efficiency for Airbus aircraft across international markets.
