RR Kabel Foundation Completes Road Safety Campaign Across Pune

RRoshani, the corporate social responsibility initiative of the RR Kabel Foundation, has successfully concluded a comprehensive road safety and traffic awareness campaign across Pune in collaboration with the Elixir Foundation. The initiative was aimed at promoting safer road practices, improving public awareness about traffic regulations, and strengthening infrastructure for the city’s traffic police.

The campaign combined education, community engagement and infrastructure support to encourage responsible road behaviour while improving working conditions for traffic personnel stationed at busy intersections across the city. As part of the initiative, more than 10,000 students and citizens participated in awareness programmes focused on traffic regulations, pedestrian safety, responsible driving practices and basic first-aid measures. The sessions were designed to encourage greater public participation in road safety while fostering a culture of responsible commuting among young people and daily road users.

To further extend the campaign’s reach, road safety messages were displayed through newly installed traffic police booths positioned at prominent locations across Pune. These booths serve as visible reminders for motorists to follow traffic rules while also improving the operational efficiency and safety of traffic police personnel.

The programme also encouraged community participation through a road safety-themed painting competition that attracted nearly 1,000 participants. The event provided an interactive platform for students and citizens to express their understanding of road safety while reinforcing the campaign’s key messages through creative engagement.

A major highlight of the initiative was the installation of 75 modern traffic police booths, including 55 across Pune. The new booths are expected to provide traffic personnel with improved working conditions while enhancing their visibility at critical traffic junctions. Strategically positioned at high-traffic areas, accident-prone locations, educational institutions and hospitals, the booths will help strengthen traffic management, improve emergency response capabilities and provide convenient assistance points for commuters requiring guidance or support.

Speaking on the completion of the campaign, Kirti Kabra, Director, RR Global, said road safety represents a shared responsibility that requires active participation from organisations, authorities and citizens alike. She noted that the collaboration with the Elixir Foundation enabled the company to spread awareness among thousands of people while extending meaningful support to the traffic police. She added that the initiative reflects RR Kabel’s commitment to creating safer urban environments through sustained community engagement and responsible corporate action. The campaign concluded with a formal handover ceremony in Pune, marking the successful completion of the infrastructure and awareness initiatives.

Through RRoshani, the RR Kabel Foundation continues to undertake programmes that promote community welfare and sustainable development. The latest road safety campaign demonstrates how partnerships between corporate organisations and social institutions can contribute to safer roads, stronger public awareness and improved civic infrastructure while supporting the efforts of traffic authorities in managing growing urban mobility challenges.
