Resources Pellets Concentrates Pvt Ltd (RPCL), a joint venture between BKG Mining Private Limited and Fomento Resources, has awarded a contract to SMS group for the development of a compact pellet plant with an annual production capacity of two million tons. The facility will be established in Somalapur Village, Sandur Taluk, Ballari District, Karnataka.
Under the agreement, SMS group will undertake basic engineering, manufacturing, and supply of core plant equipment. The scope also includes a comprehensive spare parts package and deployment of an integrated digital solutions suite designed to enhance operational efficiency. The project is scheduled for completion within 15 months.
The new pellet plant reflects RPCL’s strategy to strengthen its resource base while supporting sustainable growth in mineral-rich regions. By incorporating advanced process technologies and digital tools, the plant is expected to deliver improved production stability, optimized energy consumption, and reduced manual intervention.
The digital solution suite provided by SMS group will enable intelligent monitoring and control of plant operations, contributing to higher efficiency and consistent output quality.
