Resonia Ltd. has secured a major interstate transmission system (ISTS) project in Karnataka, awarded by the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC). The project will be executed through a special purpose vehicle, Hampapura Power Transmission Limited, and is expected to significantly enhance the resilience and capacity of the Southern power grid.

The 400 kV transmission project is a critical step toward strengthening grid infrastructure in the region, enabling improved operational flexibility and reliable power flow. It comes at a time when Karnataka is witnessing rapid growth in electricity demand, driven by accelerated renewable energy deployment, particularly in solar and wind generation.

The initiative aligns with India’s broader target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. As renewable energy capacity expands, the need for robust, high-capacity transmission networks has become increasingly important to ensure efficient evacuation and distribution of clean power.

Commenting on the development, Prashant Sinha, Chief Executive Officer of Resonia, said the project represents a significant milestone for the company and a key reinforcement of Karnataka’s energy infrastructure. He emphasized that as renewable energy scales rapidly, resilient transmission systems are essential to maintain grid stability and support long-term sustainability goals.

The transmission corridor will pass through varied and environmentally sensitive terrains, requiring careful planning and stakeholder coordination. Resonia plans to deploy advanced engineering solutions and responsible construction practices to ensure efficient execution while minimizing environmental and social impact.

With this project, Resonia strengthens its role as a key contributor to India’s energy transition, supporting grid modernization, future load growth, and reliable electricity delivery across the Southern region. The project is also expected to facilitate seamless integration of renewable energy into the grid, enhancing overall system efficiency.

Resonia continues to expand its footprint in transmission infrastructure, leveraging its expertise in executing large-scale projects. The Hampapura project underscores the company’s commitment to building future-ready infrastructure that supports India’s evolving energy landscape and sustainability ambitions.
