FMCG company Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL) will invest over ₹1,500 crore to establish an integrated food and beverage manufacturing facility at Katol in Maharashtra. The facility will be set up as part of an agreement between RCPL, the consumer products arm of Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries, and the Maharashtra government. The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to build the unit in Nagpur.

The new facility is expected to generate direct employment for more than 500 people, according to a video shared by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on social media. Manufacturing operations are scheduled to begin in 2026. Under the agreement, the state government will support RCPL in securing necessary approvals, clearances, and financial incentives.

During its annual general meeting last month, Reliance had announced plans to invest ₹40,000 crore (USD 4.7 billion) to create Asia’s largest integrated food parks, incorporating AI-driven automation, robotics, and sustainable technologies to achieve cost leadership. RCPL, which was spun off from Reliance Retail and now operates as a direct subsidiary of Reliance Industries, has become one of the fastest-growing companies in the FMCG sector. It achieved revenues exceeding ₹11,000 crore within just three years of its inception.

At the AGM, RIL Director Isha Ambani described RCPL as one of the group’s “growth engines,” with ambitions to reach ₹1 lakh crore in revenue over the next five years and expand its presence globally. She further stated that the FMCG business will serve as a “blueprint for expansion” into other high-value consumer categories such as apparel and electronics.

“Our long-term ambition is to become India’s largest FMCG company with a global presence. This will make RCPL a major new value-creating engine for the Reliance Group, comparable in scale and profitability to our Retail business,” Isha Ambani added.

The company, currently undergoing demerger to become a direct subsidiary of Reliance Industries, has achieved ₹11,500 crore (USD 1.4 billion) in revenue within just three years, making it one of India’s fastest-growing FMCG players. RCPL has expanded its portfolio through acquisitions and in-house brand launches, offering products across categories from soap to soft drinks. It has acquired brands like Tagz Foods and introduced new variants under labels such as Campa, Independence, Alan’s, Enzo, and Ravalgaon to meet evolving consumer preferences.

Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), is dedicated to enriching everyday life for consumers. By combining global quality benchmarks with deep local insights, RCPL develops products that are accessible, affordable, and aligned with the aspirations of Indian households.

Backed by the scale, infrastructure, and trust of RIL, the company focuses on delivering solutions that meet diverse and evolving consumer needs, while building long-term connections with communities. With a vision to shape the future of the consumer goods industry, RCPL is committed to offering world-class, trusted, and value-driven products that reflect modern lifestyles and contribute to the nation’s growth.
