PTC Industries Limited, a key player in high-performance materials and precision-engineered components for defence and aerospace, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) to establish a Joint Venture Company. The venture aims to design, develop, and produce complete propulsion systems, guided bombs, and aero-engines for missiles, UAVs, and loitering munitions, pending necessary regulatory approvals.

BDL, a leading public sector enterprise manufacturing guided missiles and underwater weapons for India’s Armed Forces, formalized the agreement during the inauguration of PTC’s Titanium &Superalloys Materials Plant at the Strategic Materials Technology Complex (SMTC) in Lucknow. The ceremony was graced by the Honourable Raksha Mantri, Rajnath Singh, and the Honourable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath.

The collaboration is a major boost to the ‘Make in India’ vision, aiming to strengthen domestic production of propulsion systems and reduce reliance on imports. The new entity will focus on developing advanced technologies including liquid and solid rocket motors, ramjet, and turbojet engines for drones and UAVs. It will combine PTC’s expertise in materials and precision component manufacturing with BDL’s proven capabilities in missile and defence systems.

Sachin Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of PTC Industries Limited, said, “This Joint Venture with Bharat Dynamics marks a milestone in India’s journey towards self-reliance in propulsion and engine technologies. By merging our manufacturing and material capabilities with BDL’s system integration strengths, we are building a robust, indigenous ecosystem for next-generation strategic platforms, fully supporting the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision.”

With a heritage spanning over six decades, PTC Industries is a leading Indian manufacturer of precision metal components for high-performance applications. Through its subsidiary, Aerolloy Technologies Limited, the company produces titanium and superalloy castings for aerospace customers in India and abroad. PTC is also scaling up its Strategic Materials Technology Complex in Lucknow, which houses advanced facilities for producing aerospace-grade materials and precision-engineered components for the global defence and aerospace industry.
