Priyadarshini Gaddam took office as Director (Personnel) at NMDC on Friday, following her appointment by the Ministry of Steel. As a Functional Director, she joins the company’s Board, bringing a wealth of experience.
Before this role, she served as the Chief General Manager (Personnel & Administration) and Head of Personnel at both the NMDC Corporate Office in Hyderabad and NMDC Steel Limited in Nagarnar. Starting her career at NMDC as an Executive Trainee in 1992, she steadily advanced through various positions, becoming a key figure in promoting leadership opportunities for women in the mining sector.
Over her 30-year career, Smt Priyadarshini has been instrumental in fostering a work environment that prioritizes safety for women and offers equal opportunities to marginalized groups, while maintaining top standards of employee welfare at NMDC. She has significantly improved processes in areas like Industrial Relations, Recruitment, Medical Policies, and Stakeholder Management. Additionally, she represented NMDC in the Second Pay Revision Commission, contributing to successful wage settlement negotiations for CPSEs.
Her leadership was particularly evident at NMDC Steel Limited, where she led initiatives such as the R&R Policy, skill development programs for the community, and the establishment of crucial facilities like the Fire Department, Occupational Health Centre, and Primary Health Centre—efforts that greatly enhanced workforce safety and well-being.
An alumna of Osmania University, Hyderabad, Smt. Priyadarshini holds a postgraduate degree in Social Work (Personnel Management and Industrial Relations) and an LLB. With her appointment as Director (Personnel), NMDC is poised to achieve greater productivity and growth for the industry.
