Powertec Supplies India Pvt Ltd has manufactured a 50kW AC/DC Rectifier Unit for a specialised customer application, demonstrating its capabilities in high-capacity power conversion and customised power system manufacturing for demanding requirements. The unit operates on a 415V AC, three-phase input and delivers 28V DC at up to 1,720A, with a total rated capacity of 50kW. The system highlights the level of power conversion and high-current capability required for specialised platforms where electrical architectures may need to support vehicle auxiliary systems, mission electronics and other critical support subsystems simultaneously.
A 25kW power system can already support substantial electrical loads in a specialised defence platform, depending on the platform’s electrical architecture and configuration. The 50kW unit manufactured by Powertec provides twice that rated capacity. At 28V DC, its ability to deliver up to 1,720A demonstrates the high-current capability required for applications with significant electrical demands.
The significance of the system extends beyond its 50kW rating. The unit has been manufactured to convert and manage a substantial level of electrical power according to the specific requirements of the intended customer application. The rectifier is not being presented as a proprietary Powertec product. Instead, its manufacture demonstrates the company’s ability to undertake customer-specific power conversion and customised power system projects. Powertec works across AC-DC switched-mode power supplies (SMPS), DC-DC converters and specialised power systems for demanding and mission-critical applications.
