Pearl Global Industries Limited (PGIL) (BSE: 532808; NSE: PGIL), India’s largest listed garment exporter, has commissioned a new garment manufacturing facility in Bangladesh and expanded its sustainable laundry capacity. The new manufacturing unit will add around 7 million pieces of annual garment capacity, taking Pearl Global’s total installed manufacturing capacity across its global operations to around 108 million pieces per year.

The expansion strengthens the company’s manufacturing presence in Bangladesh, one of its key sourcing and production markets. Pearl Global operates manufacturing facilities across South Asia, Southeast Asia and Central America, supplying apparel to customers in major international markets.

The new facility is expected to support the company’s ability to meet growing demand from global customers while strengthening its multi-country manufacturing network. Bangladesh has an established apparel manufacturing ecosystem, supported by a large skilled workforce and access to major international markets.

Pulkit Seth, Vice-Chairman and Non-Executive Director, Pearl Global Industries, said: “We continue to invest in our manufacturing capabilities to capture growth opportunities in Bangladesh and strengthen our position in this important market. Bangladesh remains an important growth market for the Group, supported by its trade access to major global markets. The additional capacity will help us serve leading international customers and is another step in building a scalable and competitive manufacturing platform.”

Along with the new garment manufacturing unit, Pearl Global has expanded its in-house sustainable laundry capacity in Bangladesh. The company expects the additional capacity to improve production efficiency, lower washing costs and reduce water consumption.

Pallab Banerjee, Managing Director, Pearl Global Industries, said: “The commissioning of the new facility adds around 7 million pieces of annual capacity and further strengthens our multi-country manufacturing network. Bangladesh offers a well-developed apparel manufacturing ecosystem with a skilled and cost-efficient workforce, and this expansion will allow us to make better use of these capabilities while meeting the changing requirements of our global customers. The expansion of our in-house sustainable laundry capacity is also expected to improve efficiency, reduce washing costs and water consumption, with an estimated ROCE of around 18–20%.”

The company said the latest investment is part of its continued efforts to expand manufacturing capacity in key sourcing markets while improving operational efficiency and sustainability. With the new facility, Pearl Global’s installed garment manufacturing capacity across its operations has reached approximately 108 million pieces annually, strengthening its ability to cater to customers across international markets.
