Parker Hannifin has introduced an upgraded version of its DFplus valve series, now equipped with an IO-Link Class B interface to support next-generation hydraulic applications. The latest development builds on the company’s established DFplus platform, combining improved connectivity, simplified installation, and enhanced diagnostic capabilities.
The new configuration integrates both power supply and communication into a single M12 connector, streamlining system architecture and reducing wiring complexity. By eliminating the need for traditional multi-pin connections, the solution enables faster installation while minimizing potential points of failure.
The DFplus valve range has evolved through multiple generations and is widely used in applications requiring precise motion control. The current generation already supports IO-Link Class A alongside analogue communication, allowing users to monitor performance and adjust parameters in real time. With the addition of IO-Link Class B, the system now benefits from a separate, electrically isolated power supply for the valve’s power stage.
This design enables higher current capacity—up to 4 amperes—while maintaining the dynamic performance associated with the DFplus series. The use of standardized, pre-assembled M12 cabling further improves reliability by reducing risks linked to manual connector assembly.
The upgraded valves also deliver expanded diagnostic functionality. Operators can access real-time data on parameters such as temperature, operating cycles, and system status, enabling proactive maintenance and faster troubleshooting. Parameter configuration can be managed directly through programmable logic controllers or dedicated service tools, supporting more efficient commissioning and ongoing system optimization.
In addition to performance enhancements, the valves meet functional safety requirements and can be deployed in applications requiring high reliability. The architecture supports safe operation through electrical isolation between control electronics and power components when paired with compatible IO-Link infrastructure.
The DFplus valves with IO-Link Class B are available in selected sizes, with additional variants expected to follow. The launch reflects Parker’s continued focus on developing intelligent, connected solutions for industrial automation. With growing demand for smarter and more efficient hydraulic systems, the enhanced DFplus range is positioned to support industries seeking improved performance, reduced downtime, and simplified integration across complex operations.
