Pandorum Technologies, a biotechnology company with operations in India and the United States, has raised US$18 million in a Series B funding round to support the clinical advancement of its regenerative therapy pipeline, including Kuragenx, and to expand manufacturing and international operations across the United States, Japan, and the Middle East.
The round was led by Protons Corporate, with participation from Galentic Pharma, investor Ashish Kacholia, Noblevast Advisory, Avinya Fund, members of the Burman family, and other investors. Bandana Kankani, advisor and investor at Pandorum, advised on the transaction and supported alignment between the company’s long-term strategy and investment structure.
Founded by Dr Tuhin Bhowmick and Arun Chandru, Pandorum develops regenerative therapies based on engineered exosomes designed to restore damaged tissue function by modulating inflammation, fibrosis, and degeneration.
Commenting on the funding, Dr Bhowmick, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, said the capital would help move the company’s research into clinical applications. He added that Pandorum’s focus is on restoring tissue function through targeted, disease-modifying approaches, with the goal of scaling from single-tissue treatments to broader regenerative applications.
Co-Founder Arun Chandru said the company remains committed to addressing unmet medical needs, particularly in ophthalmology, where regenerative therapies could significantly improve outcomes for patients worldwide.
Pandorum’s clinical programs are supported by a group of internationally recognized clinicians, including Dr Virender Singh Sangwan (Dr Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, New Delhi), Dr Shigeru Kinoshita (Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine), and Dr Ramez Haddadin and Dr Satish Nadig (Northwestern Medicine, Chicago).
The company has adopted a distributed manufacturing model, including a contract development and manufacturing partnership with AGC Biologics in Italy for U.S. and European markets, and a collaboration with Nucelion Therapeutics, a subsidiary of Bharat Biotech, to serve the Asia-Pacific region. Additional partnerships are under evaluation in the Middle East.
Pandorum’s lead programs target ocular surface disorders such as Stevens–Johnson Syndrome and Neurotrophic Keratitis, for which Kuragenx has received US FDA Orphan Drug Designation. The company is also expanding its platform to address inflammatory and degenerative conditions affecting the lung, liver, and nervous system. Pandorum Technologies is a biotechnology company focused on tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, with research and development facilities in India and the United States.
