Pandorum Technologies, a clinical-stage regenerative medicine company developing programmable tissue regeneration platforms, has announced a strategic collaboration with Hyderabad-based Nucelion Therapeutics to expand manufacturing capabilities for its exosome-based therapies across the Asia-Pacific region.

The collaboration supports Pandorum’s progression toward clinical development by enabling regionally aligned manufacturing, supply readiness, and regulatory preparedness. It also highlights India’s growing role as a global hub for the development and production of advanced biologic therapies.

“Pandorum is building a global regenerative medicine platform designed for scalability, consistency, and collaboration,” said Dr Tuhin Bhowmick, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Pandorum Technologies. “As our programs move closer to clinical and commercial milestones, establishing strong regional manufacturing infrastructure is critical. Nucelion’s expertise in advanced biologics manufacturing aligns well with our long-term objective of delivering programmable exosome therapies to patients worldwide.”

Under the partnership, Nucelion Therapeutics will support the development and scalable manufacturing of Pandorum’s lead exosome-based asset, Kuragenx, which is being developed for ocular diseases. The collaboration will initially focus on conditions such as ocular surface injury, inflammatory corneal disorders, Stevens–Johnson syndrome, and neurotrophic keratitis.

Dr Raghu Malapaka, Chief Business Officer of Nucelion Therapeutics, said the partnership brings together innovation and manufacturing excellence. “Kuragenx represents a promising new approach to treating ocular diseases. Our GMP-compliant manufacturing platforms and quality systems are designed to support complex biologics, and we look forward to enabling the production of Pandorum’s designer exosome therapies for patients across the APAC region.”

Dr Jitendra Kumar, Managing Director of BIRAC, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, noted that the collaboration reflects India’s readiness to both innovate and manufacture advanced therapies for global clinical needs.

Looking ahead, Pandorum plans to extend its disease-modifying exosome therapies beyond ophthalmology to address degenerative conditions affecting the skin, lungs, and other organs impacted by inflammation, vascular dysfunction, and fibrosis. Nucelion Therapeutics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bharat Biotech, will provide end-to-end manufacturing support, including process scale-up, GMP-compliant production, and quality control of pharmaceutical-grade exosomes derived from clinical-grade mesenchymal stem cells.

Pandorum’s proprietary platform is designed to reprogram diseased tissues by modulating intercellular communication through engineered extracellular vesicles. Built on a quality-by-design framework, the platform enables consistent manufacturing, mechanistic clarity, and data-driven clinical translation across multiple tissue indications.
