Oswal Pumps Limited has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Oswal Solar Energy Private Limited, has secured a major rooftop solar project valued at ₹39.40 crore, including GST. The order involves the supply, installation and commissioning of 7.46 MWp grid-connected rooftop solar systems and marks the company’s entry into the rooftop solar segment.
The project has been awarded through M/s Swashakthi Energy, which received the original allocation for the installation of rooftop solar systems from the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Ltd. (NREDCAP). Under the agreement, Oswal Solar Energy Private Limited will execute the full scope of work for the project.
The contract includes design, engineering, supply, installation and commissioning of the solar systems, along with a five-year Comprehensive Maintenance Contract (CMC). The installations will benefit 3,729 SC and ST households in the Pulivendula and Puttaparthy divisions served by Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL). The project is part of the Government of India’s PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, a flagship programme aimed at expanding rooftop solar adoption and providing affordable electricity to households across the country.

Successful implementation will help us build a strong presence in the rooftop solar market while opening opportunities for further growth in the segment,” he said.
The timing of the project aligns with increased government support for rooftop solar development. The Union Budget recently raised the allocation for the PM Surya Ghar initiative from ₹17,000 crore to ₹22,000 crore, reflecting the growing national focus on distributed renewable energy systems.
