Electric vehicle manufacturer Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) has announced plans to invest USD 25 million (AED 92 million) over the next five years in a new assembly plant for electric vehicles located in Jafza, Dubai. The facility officially opened on Wednesday, the company reported.
Covering more than 42,000 square feet, the Jafza plant will focus on assembling OSM’s electric two- and three-wheelers, as well as managing the storage and distribution of vehicle parts and components. The company expects the plant to begin assembling vehicles by the end of 2025.
Situated to efficiently serve export markets in the Middle East and Africa, the plant is projected to create over 100 jobs during its initial phase and aims to strengthen trade ties between the UAE and India in the field of clean technology.
“Jafza offers exceptional access to over 2 billion consumers and a business environment that supports rapid growth and sustainability. Through Dubai, we intend to make eco-friendly transportation more accessible and commercially viable across the Middle East and Africa,” said Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of Omega Seiki Mobility. While electric vehicles remain the primary focus, the company also plans to roll out CNG-powered models tailored for select African markets, acknowledging that CNG can serve as a practical clean fuel alternative until EV infrastructure becomes more widespread.
“An increasing number of manufacturers are choosing Jafza to reach expanding markets throughout the Middle East, Africa, and beyond. With the MENA region’s EV market expected to hit USD 14.5 billion by 2029, this facility will bring advanced mobility options closer to the region and highlight Dubai’s position as a leading automotive hub,” said Abdulla Al Hashmi, COO of Parks and Zones, DP World GCC.
OSM’s current lineup includes the three-wheeler cargo model OSM Rage+ and the passenger model OSM Stream, featuring a driving range of up to 270 km, fast-charging and battery-swapping options, plus integrated technology for real-time tracking and fleet management.
Omega Seiki, a leader in the electric vehicle industry, is dedicated to delivering innovative and sustainable mobility solutions. With a focus on electric two, three, and four-wheelers, OSM is driving the transition towards cleaner and greener transportation.
