Ola Electric has started offering test rides of its vehicles equipped with the company’s in-house–developed 4680 Bharat Cell battery technology at flagship stores across the country. The first model to use this advanced battery system is the S1 Pro+ (5.2 kWh), which benefits from higher range, improved performance, and enhanced safety made possible through the new cell architecture. The company recently received ARAI approval for its 5.2 kWh 4680 Bharat Cell pack under the latest AIS-156 Amendment 4 standards issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, confirming compliance with India’s newest safety and performance requirements.

A company spokesperson noted that the introduction of test rides marks an important moment for India’s EV sector, stating that the new battery technology provides a major step forward in range, power delivery, and rider protection. The spokesperson added that bringing an entirely indigenous battery platform to customers represents Ola Electric’s commitment to advancing technological independence while accelerating the nation’s shift toward sustainable transportation.

The S1 Pro+ (5.2 kWh) is driven by a 13 kW motor that delivers rapid acceleration, reaching 40 kmph in 2.1 seconds, and offers an IDC range of 320 km when used in DIY mode. It features four riding modes—Hyper, Sports, Normal, and Eco—and sets a new benchmark in safety with dual ABS and disc brakes at both ends. The vehicle also incorporates comfort-focused improvements including a redesigned two-tone seat, body-coloured mirrors, a new aluminum grab handle, distinctive rim graphics, and a wider selection of colours such as Passion Red, Porcelain White, Industrial Silver, Jet Black, Stellar Blue, and Midnight Blue.

Ola Electric’s product range spans the S1 scooter lineup and the Roadster X series of motorcycles. Its premium S1 Gen 3 range includes the S1 Pro+ in 5.2 kWh and 4 kWh options and the S1 Pro in 4 kWh and 3 kWh variants, priced at ₹1,90,338, ₹1,70,338, ₹1,44,999, and ₹1,24,999.
