Okuma America Corporation, a global leader in CNC machine tools, controls, and automation solutions, has announced the launch of its new Okuma High-Pressure Coolant (OHP) System. The latest addition to the company’s portfolio of peripheral products is designed to support integrated and seamless manufacturing processes in demanding machining environments.
The OHP system delivers variable flow, high-pressure coolant directly to machine tools, improving chip evacuation, extending tool life, enhancing surface finishes, and boosting overall productivity. Built for versatility, the system is compatible with a wide range of equipment including multi-axis lathes, machining centers, and multi-function machines.
Engineered for high-precision applications, the OHP system offers a flow rate of 8 gallons per minute (GPM) and pressure capability of up to 1000 PSI. Its advanced filtration system includes dual 5-micron quick-change filter bags, ensuring optimal coolant cleanliness and consistent performance. A 50-gallon vertical reservoir and integrated feed/supply pump support extended, uninterrupted machining cycles.
The system is designed with operator convenience in mind, featuring clear English-language PLC notifications that simplify monitoring and maintenance. A built-in dirty filter alarm alerts operators when servicing is required, helping prevent tooling damage and maintain operational efficiency. Additionally, the OHP system supports both water-based coolants and suitable oils, making it adaptable across a wide range of industrial applications.
Wade Anderson, Vice President of Engineering and Okuma Factory Automation, stated that the launch reflects Okuma’s ongoing commitment to helping customers achieve greater efficiency and business growth. He noted that the system has been developed to provide an easy-to-implement solution that enhances manufacturing productivity.
Compact in design, the OHP system features a shop-friendly footprint measuring 36” x 28” x 42” and weighs approximately 850 lbs, making it suitable for integration into diverse shop floor environments. The system is backed by a two-year parts warranty, reinforcing reliability and long-term value.
