Octillion Power Systems’ India operations have reached a significant production landmark with the rollout of their 100,000th electric vehicle battery system. This achievement reflects the company’s expanding footprint and operational strength in one of the world’s fastest-growing electric mobility markets.

The milestone unit was completed on March 20, 2025, at the company’s second Pune facility. The battery system has been supplied for a newly launched electric passenger SUV from a leading domestic automotive manufacturer. Production of this scale across Octillion’s facilities in Pune and Gujarat underscores the company’s growing role in supporting India’s transition toward electrified transportation.

Company leadership highlighted the milestone as a reflection of sustained effort across engineering, operations, and supply chain teams. The ability to deliver high-performance battery systems at scale, while maintaining strict quality and safety benchmarks, has been central to the company’s progress in India.

The milestone follows a period of rapid expansion for Octillion’s India division. The company has continued to invest in localized manufacturing capabilities and supplier networks, helping reduce dependency on imports while improving efficiency and responsiveness. Plans are also underway for a new large-scale manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat, which is expected to further strengthen production capacity and regional presence.

Since entering the Indian market in 2017, Octillion has steadily grown its operations from a single manufacturing site focused on electric bus batteries to a multi-facility setup serving a wide range of vehicle segments. These include passenger vehicles, commercial trucks, buses, and two- and three-wheelers. The company currently operates more than 300,000 square feet of manufacturing space, with projections indicating annual energy output could reach 8 GWh by 2026.

Executives emphasized that the company’s long-term focus in India remains aligned with broader environmental goals. By supporting the adoption of electric vehicles, Octillion aims to contribute to reducing urban pollution and advancing cleaner mobility solutions.

The 100,000-unit milestone represents not only production scale but also the growing trust of automotive partners and customers. As demand for electric mobility continues to rise, Octillion’s India operations are positioned to play a critical role in powering the next phase of the country’s transportation evolution.
