Nuvoco Vistas Corp Ltd has partnered with Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions Limited (CleanMax) to develop a 46.4 MW wind-solar hybrid renewable energy project in Rajasthan. The project will supply renewable power to Nuvoco’s cement operations and support the company’s efforts to increase the use of clean energy.

The project will be developed at Bhikamkhore in Rajasthan by CleanMax, an independent power producer. It will have 20 MW of wind capacity and 26.4 MWdc of solar capacity, along with a 2 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Power generated from the project will be supplied to Nuvoco through the State Transmission Utility (STU) Open Access network. Once operational, the project is expected to generate around 100 million units (MU) of renewable electricity every year. The project is also expected to help avoid approximately 1,25,485 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually, covering Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.

The partnership will increase the share of renewable power in Nuvoco’s electricity consumption and reduce its dependence on conventional power sources. The project forms part of the company’s wider efforts to reduce the carbon intensity of its manufacturing operations. Nuvoco has been working on renewable energy, Waste Heat Recovery Systems (WHRS), energy efficiency and the use of alternative fuels across its manufacturing operations. The company’s DIRE programme, which covers Digitalisation, Innovation and Renewables, focuses on areas including renewable energy, climate action, water management, circularity and biodiversity.

Jayakumar Krishnaswamy, Managing Director, Nuvoco Vistas Corp Ltd, said, “This marks an important step in advancing Nuvoco’s journey towards more sustainable and resilient operations. Our collaboration with CleanMax will increase the share of renewable energy across our Rajasthan operations, strengthening our energy mix while improving long-term cost efficiency and reducing our dependence on conventional power sources.”

Kuldeep Jain, Founder and Managing Director, CleanMax, said the project reflects the growing use of renewable energy by manufacturing companies as part of their long-term power strategies. The project will provide a combination of wind and solar power, supported by battery storage, to meet the electricity requirements of Nuvoco’s operations.

Nuvoco started operations in 2014 with a greenfield cement plant in Nimbol, Rajasthan. The company later acquired Lafarge India, Emami Cement and Vadraj Cement. It has announced further capacity expansion and is working towards a total cement capacity of 35 million tonnes per annum. Nuvoco operates across Cement, Ready-Mix Concrete and Modern Building Materials. Its brands include Concreto, Duraguard, Double Bull, PSC, Nirmax and Infracem, along with products under its Zero M portfolio.

CleanMax has more than 15 years of experience in the commercial and industrial renewable energy sector. Its contracted renewable energy portfolio stood at 6.0 GW as of June 30, 2026, serving around 600 customers across technology, manufacturing, digital infrastructure and industrial sectors.
