New Fortress Energy has announced that its Brazil platform has entered into a long-term lease and capacity agreement for its Terminal de GásSul (TGS) liquefied natural gas import facility located in Santa Catarina, Brazil. The agreement is expected to commence in August 2026 and represents a significant step in commercializing the terminal’s capabilities.

The TGS facility is strategically positioned to serve southern Brazil, a region with limited access to alternative natural gas supply sources. Its infrastructure enables flexible and reliable LNG imports, supporting power generation and helping meet growing energy demand in the region.

The lease agreement is projected to generate approximately $50 million in annual EBITDA by 2027, providing a stable and predictable revenue stream. This development underscores the value of the company’s integrated energy infrastructure platform and its ability to deliver contracted cash flows while maintaining long-term growth potential.

In addition to near-term financial benefits, the TGS terminal is expected to play a key role in supporting future projects within the company’s portfolio. It will supply natural gas to the UTE Lins 2 power project, a greenfield development that secured capacity in Brazil’s recent energy auction and is scheduled to begin operations in 2031.

The combination of immediate revenue generation and long-term project integration positions TGS as a cornerstone asset within New Fortress Energy’s operations in Brazil. The facility also offers opportunities for further expansion through additional agreements with power producers and industrial customers seeking reliable energy solutions.

As demand for flexible and cleaner energy sources continues to rise, LNG infrastructure is playing an increasingly important role in ensuring energy security and supporting economic development. The TGS terminal is designed to provide dispatchable power solutions, helping balance supply and demand in a dynamic energy market.

New Fortress Energy continues to focus on delivering integrated energy solutions that combine infrastructure, logistics, and supply capabilities. Its global operations are aimed at improving access to reliable and affordable energy while supporting the transition toward lower-emission alternatives. The agreement reinforces the company’s commitment to expanding its presence in key markets and leveraging its infrastructure platform to drive sustainable growth and long-term value creation.
