Nelcast Limited, one of India’s leading manufacturers of ductile and grey iron castings, has announced its financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, reporting steady revenue growth despite a challenging operating environment. The company remains optimistic about its outlook, supported by new product launches, expanding export opportunities and rising demand across key sectors.
For the first quarter of FY27, Nelcast reported total revenue of ₹345.4 crore, compared with ₹336.0 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, registering a growth of 2.8 percent. EBITDA stood at ₹20.1 crore, with an EBITDA margin of 5.8 percent, while Profit After Tax (PAT) was reported at ₹5.1 crore.
The company’s performance during the quarter was supported by continued demand from the tractor and medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) segments. Export business also recorded sequential improvement, reflecting improving demand from international markets.
Profitability during the quarter was affected by higher raw material costs resulting from geopolitical developments and labour availability challenges across the industry. Nelcast has initiated discussions with customers for price revisions, and the benefits of these measures are expected to be reflected gradually over the coming quarters.
Commenting on the results, Deepak Reddy Ponnavolu, Managing Director & CEO, Nelcast Limited, said the company delivered a stable performance despite temporary cost pressures. He noted that demand remained healthy across core business segments, while export markets continued to recover. He added that the company expects improved profitability as revised pricing takes effect and operating conditions stabilize.
A major milestone for the company is the commencement of production for several new products during the second quarter of FY27. These programmes are expected to scale up progressively during the year and contribute significantly to production volumes and revenue in the second half of the financial year.
Nelcast also expects capacity utilisation to improve as new product programmes gather momentum and customer demand continues to strengthen. At the same time, the company is expanding its presence in European markets and has secured new business opportunities that are expected to support long-term growth.
The management believes Nelcast is entering an important phase of expansion. With new product introductions, growing exports, increasing customer additions and improving plant utilisation, the company is well positioned to strengthen its market presence and deliver sustainable growth in the coming years.
Established in 1982, Nelcast manufactures grey and ductile iron castings for the commercial vehicle, tractor and railway sectors. Around 30 to 35 percent of its revenue comes from exports. The company operates manufacturing facilities at Ponneri in Tamil Nadu and Gudur and Pedapariya in Andhra Pradesh, with a combined installed production capacity of 160,000 tonnes per annum. Its product portfolio includes transmission casings, axle housings, differential carriers, brake discs and other precision-engineered cast components supplied to leading domestic and global customers.
