Maxposure Limited, an NSE-listed company, has announced the publication of its international patent (WO 2026/053187 A1) under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) for an automated system designed to pause and resume wireless in-flight entertainment (IFE) during public address (PA) announcements. The patented innovation introduces a sensor-driven mechanism that detects thermal variations associated with human speech during onboard announcements.
Once an announcement is identified, the system automatically pauses active wireless IFE content and seamlessly resumes playback after the announcement concludes. This process operates independently of wired integration with the aircraft’s PA system and eliminates the need for manual intervention by cabin crew.
Public address systems play a vital role in aviation safety, serving as the primary medium for communicating operational updates, safety instructions, and emergency information. Aviation regulatory bodies require that such announcements remain audible and unobstructed at all times. Maxposure’s solution is designed to support this mandate by ensuring that passenger entertainment does not interfere with critical communications, thereby reducing the likelihood of missed safety instructions.
The technology has been developed as part of AeroHub, Maxposure’s in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) platform. AeroHub includes both battery-powered and aircraft-powered configurations.
The battery-powered variant offers flexibility in deployment, while AeroHubPRO is a high-performance, aircraft-powered system designed to enhance passenger experience and enable ancillary revenue opportunities for airlines. Its compact, modular design allows for rapid installation without requiring a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC), while supporting high passenger loads and uninterrupted service delivery.
The PA pause functionality is implemented through SkyView by AeroHub, the company’s onboard digital interface that enables content delivery and passenger interaction. SkyView serves as the operational layer through which automated controls are executed within the IFE ecosystem.
Commenting on the development, Sameer Sirdeshmukh, Vice President – AeroHub and the innovator behind the system, stated that the solution addresses the growing need for intelligent systems in modern aircraft cabins, ensuring that critical announcements remain effective without compromising the passenger entertainment experience.
Maxposure emphasized that the patent represents a technological innovation rather than regulatory clearance. Any commercial deployment will require certification in accordance with civil aviation authority standards, including validation for system reliability, electromagnetic compatibility, and integration within approved aircraft configurations.
