Marico Limited has rolled out Nihar Naturals Shanti Aloe Vera Amla Hair Oil, a new variant that combines the strengthening properties of Amla with the softness and shine offered by Aloe Vera. Nihar Shanti Amla has long been a trusted choice across several North and West Indian states, and this launch marks a strategic expansion of the brand to meet evolving consumer expectations.
Ashish Goupal, CEO for India Core Business at Marico, noted that the new product reflects the company’s focus on innovation rooted in consumer understanding. He highlighted that modern consumers look for haircare solutions that are nourishing yet suited to fast-paced lifestyles. According to him, the launch modernizes a legacy brand while remaining true to its promise of accessible and dependable care. As a leader in the hair oil category, Marico aims to broaden the array of choices available to users and introduce contemporary offerings within the amla hair oil segment.
The variant will be sold in packs ranging from ₹20 to ₹120 and will be available in retail outlets and on e-commerce platforms. Marico Limited is a leading Indian multinational consumer-goods company, headquartered in Mumbai, operating in the global beauty, wellness, and food-products segments.
Established in 1990 (originally part of a family business), Marico grew out of earlier ventures in edible oils and personal-care products. The company is active in over 25 countries across Asia and Africa, catering to a wide range of consumer needs including hair care, skin care, edible oils, healthy foods, male grooming and fabric care.
Marico’s brand portfolio includes household names such as Parachute, Saffola, Nihar Naturals, Livon, Set Wet, Mediker, and several more — products that reach roughly one out of every three Indians. Over the years, Marico has expanded beyond oils and hair-care into value-added hair oils, refined edible oils, health-focused foods, male grooming, and skin-care.
Its international business accounts for around 25% of the group’s revenue, underscoring its global reach beyond India. Marico stands out not only for its strong brand-led presence, but also for maintaining values around innovation, consumer-centricity, and sustainable growth — attributes that have helped it transition from a small regional oils business to a large multinational in the FMCG sector.
