Manaksia Coated Metals & Industries Limited (NSE: MANAKCOAT | BSE: 539046) has successfully completed the upgrade of its Continuous Galvanising Line (CGL) at its manufacturing facility in Kutch, Gujarat. The project involved a planned shutdown to convert the line from conventional galvanised steel production to Aluminium-Zinc coated steel, along with a capacity expansion.
Following the upgrade, the installed capacity of the Continuous Galvanising Line has increased from 132,000 tonnes per annum to 180,000 tonnes per annum. The transition to Aluminium-Zinc coating technology allows the company to cater to growing demand for corrosion-resistant, premium-coated steel products that are increasingly used in construction, infrastructure, appliances, and engineering applications.
The upgraded line operates at higher speeds and incorporates improved operational controls, enabling better productivity and energy efficiency. The Aluminium-Zinc coating process also allows for optimized coating consumption per tonne, helping improve cost efficiency while maintaining high corrosion resistance standards. The enhancement is expected to support improved margins over the medium term by shifting the product mix toward higher-value offerings.
The successful commissioning strengthens the company’s ability to serve both domestic and export markets and provides greater scalability to respond to evolving customer requirements. The location of the Kutch facility near Kandla and Mundra ports continues to support efficient logistics for exports and coastal distribution.
Commenting on the development, Karan Agrawal, Whole-Time Director of Manaksia Coated Metals & Industries Limited, said the upgrade marks an important step in expanding the company’s value-added product portfolio. He noted that the increased capacity and improved operating efficiencies position the company to address rising demand for Aluminium-Zinc coated steel while supporting sustainable profitability.
