Makera, a developer of intelligent desktop CNC machines, will present its latest products and platform updates at CES 2026, following the success of a crowdfunding campaign that raised more than US$10 million. The company will also spotlight recent advancements in its software ecosystem and the expansion of its growing maker community, Makerables.
Makera will exhibit at Booth #54363 in Halls A–D, Level 2, at the Venetian Expo & Convention Center, Las Vegas. At the show, Makera will display its complete range of desktop CNC machines, including Carvera, Carvera Air, and the newly launched Makera Z1. Each system is designed to serve different user groups, from educational institutions and professional workshops to individual creators and hobbyists.
The Carvera platform is known for integrating features typically found in industrial CNC systems, such as automatic tool changing, PCB milling, 4-axis capability, and closed-loop motion control. Its enclosed, low-noise design and high accuracy make it well suited for classrooms, research labs, and technical training environments.
Carvera Air delivers professional-grade precision in a more compact footprint. It includes a quick-change tool system, automatic probing and leveling, optional 4-axis support, and laser engraving functionality. The machine supports a wide range of materials, including wood, plastics, aluminum, and brass, making it a flexible option for both advanced enthusiasts and professional users. Both platforms have gained traction across education, enterprise, and premium maker communities. Building on this momentum, Makera has introduced a new system aimed at first-time CNC users.
Drawing on its experience in machine design and production, Makera optimized structural design, material selection, and manufacturing processes to reduce cost while maintaining accuracy and performance. The result is the Makera Z1.
Priced below US$1,000, the Z1 is positioned to make precision CNC machining more accessible. Its crowdfunding campaign generated strong interest, raising over US$10 million, signaling demand for affordable yet capable manufacturing tools. The Z1 combines compact dimensions with professional-level performance, making it suitable for students, creators, and early-stage innovators. The campaign is currently in the Kickstarter late pledge phase, expected to conclude around mid-January, with a broader pre-sale planned later in 2026.
Makera will also demonstrate significant updates to Makera Studio, its integrated software environment. Enhancements include refreshed desktop and mobile interfaces, built-in machine control for simplified operation, and guided machining workflows for applications such as relief carving, PCB milling, and 4-axis machining, with automated toolpath suggestions.
In addition, the company will preview Makerables, a new community and content platform designed for makers. The platform will offer a shared model library, creator challenges, and AI-assisted design tools that help users generate models, reliefs, and 3D designs with minimal experience.
Planned since 2024 and refined throughout 2025, Makerables is scheduled for an official launch in early 2026, with a focus on collaboration, learning, and content sharing within the maker ecosystem.
Commenting on the company’s direction, Josh Zhang, Founder and CEO of Makera, said that desktop CNC technology is evolving into a core creative tool. He noted that Makera’s goal is to make precision manufacturing broadly accessible, enabling more people to turn ideas into physical products and participate in the growing global maker movement.
During CES 2026, Makera will also appear at partner booths, including Kickstarter (Venetian Expo, Hall G, Booth 60101, Eureka Park) and Jackery (LVCC, North Hall, Booth 9815). The company will co-host a giveaway with Jackery titled “Powering Creativity with Makera&Jackery.”
The campaign begins on January 6, with live demonstrations from January 7–9 and winner announcements on January 13. Details will be shared through Makera’s official Instagram channels. Visitors to Makera’s main booth will be able to take part in hands-on workshops and explore practical CNC applications across the product range.
Founded by a team of makers, Makera develops intelligent desktop CNC machines that emphasize automation, precision, and ease of use. From the advanced Carvera series used in classrooms, studios, small businesses, and laboratories, to the newly introduced Z1, Makera supports creators worldwide in transforming ideas into finished products.
