Mahindra Logistics, a subsidiary of Mahindra and Mahindra, has commenced the development of an advanced warehousing facility in Phaltan, situated near Pune, involving an investment of Rs 170 crore. Spanning an expansive area of 6.5 lakh square feet, this facility is poised to enhance Mahindra Logistics Limited’s (MLL) extensive network of multi-client facilities across the country, as stated in the official release.
Mahindra Logistics, a subsidiary of the Mahindra Group, is a third-party logistics service provider in India. Established in 2007, the company offers end-to-end logistics solutions, including transportation and distribution services, warehousing, and supply chain management.
Mahindra Logistics leverages advanced technology to enhance efficiency and provide customized solutions for clients across various industries, such as automotive, e-commerce, and pharmaceuticals.
Mahindra has outlined a two-phase plan for the construction of a warehouse, with the initial phase spanning 3.5 lakh sq. ft. The targeted completion for this first phase is set for the conclusion of 2024. This segment of the development is designated to function as the national logistics center for the said client upon operational commencement.
Phaltan emerges as a pivotal and strategically advantageous locale, positioned in immediate proximity to crucial clientele within the automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and components sectors.
Mahindra Logistics has asserted its commitment to overseeing the intricacies of inbound logistics, extending its purview to encompass comprehensive solutions for manufacturing and distribution needs. This initiative is directed towards a diverse clientele entrenched in the automotive and manufacturing domains situated within the geographical confines of the region.
The organization has announced that the progress is in harmony with its commitment to sustainability, intending to integrate decarbonization practices, leverage renewable energy sources, and strictly adhere to environmentally friendly warehousing standards in the construction of the upcoming warehouse.
Furthermore, the company is set to allocate significant resources towards skill development initiatives, with the goal of generating employment opportunities for over 500 individuals within the local region.

Mr Swaminathan emphasized that the newly established facility will seamlessly integrate with Mahindra Logistics’ national network of multi-client facilities, express services, and Full Truckload operations. This integration aims to provide an extended reach and elevate service levels for their valued customers.
