Magellanic Cloud Limited (NSE: MCLOUD | BSE: 538891) has expanded into the AI-enabled fuel retail and infrastructure segment after its wholly owned subsidiary, Provigil Surveillance Limited, received a purchase order worth ₹44.60 lakh from Nayara Energy Limited. Under the order, Provigil Surveillance will deploy an AI-powered Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and video analytics platform at selected Nayara Energy retail outlets and oil depots. The system will combine computer vision with forecourt dispensing infrastructure to support vehicle identification, security monitoring and operational reporting.

The contract, valued at ₹44,60,400, adds to Magellanic Cloud’s order book in AI-based video analytics and marks the company’s entry into the fuel retail automation segment. The deployment is designed to provide automated vehicle-to-dispense validation at retail outlets, helping link identified vehicles with fuel dispensing activity. The platform will also support video-based security monitoring and safety management information system reporting at oil depots.

Magellanic Cloud said the Nayara Energy deployment could provide a basis for expanding its AI surveillance and automation solutions across the fuel retail ecosystem as energy companies increase the use of digital technologies at retail outlets and distribution facilities.

“Securing this contract with Nayara Energy is a major operational milestone for Magellanic Cloud as we expand our AI surveillance capabilities into the high-growth energy retail sector. As oil marketing companies accelerate forecourt digitization, our AI video analytics provide the exact infrastructure needed for loss prevention and efficiency. This order positions us well to scale across a high growth vertical,” said Joseph Sudheer Reddy Thumma, Chairman and Managing Director, Magellanic Cloud Limited.

Provigil Surveillance’s platform is intended to bring surveillance, vehicle recognition and operational data into a single system. The company said the technology can be adapted for different retail outlet and depot requirements, allowing it to support applications ranging from vehicle monitoring to safety and operational reporting.

Magellanic Cloud expects the fuel retail segment to offer opportunities as oil marketing companies and other energy businesses continue to adopt automation and AI-based monitoring technologies. The company said successful implementation of the initial project would provide experience that can be applied to other retail outlets and distribution locations.
