Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) Minerals & Metals (M&M) business has won several significant contracts across India, strengthening its position in the country’s industrial and manufacturing sectors. Among the key wins is an order from Hindalco Industries for establishing a 180 KTPA aluminium smelter and an associated Gas Treatment Centre (GTC) as part of Hindalco’s new greenfield project in Odisha. The scope of work for the smelter includes civil, structural, supply, and installation activities, while the GTC package covers engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning. L&T has maintained a partnership with Hindalco for over three decades, contributing to multiple expansion projects across the company’s alumina, aluminium, and copper operations.
The M&M business has also received an order from Tata Steel for setting up a 1 MTPA Coke Oven Battery 6 A/B at Jamshedpur. This project encompasses engineering, design, manufacturing, supply, construction, and plant commissioning. Additionally, the Product Business Unit of M&M has bagged several orders from clients across the country for the supply of mining and material handling equipment, including Stacker Reclaimers, Wagon Tipplers, Crushers, and Surface Miners.
